Women Doing Well (WDW) exists to inspire a movement of women living and giving generously. Over the past year in conversations with women, we have explored the tension Christian women experience as they approach the holistic stewardship of their time, talent and treasure. As women have forums to learn and grow together using principles of strategic giving in alignment with their personal calling, we will witness tremendous economic, intellectual and spiritual strength released for good through the family, to the community and extending outwards into the world.
The quantitative and qualitative survey included an online survey of 7,336 Christian women and focus group discussions that included the voices of over 100 Christian women making this the largest survey of Christian women and one of the largest ever on philanthropy. The overwhelming response indicated we had struck a chord of resonance with women. Giving is important to women and central to how they live their lives.
The big takeaways:
#1 Christian women want to talk about money and giving.
#2 Women increasingly give well when they are learning and growing together in community.
#3 Women grow in giving when they are developing their spiritual muscles, discovering their personal calling and getting a handle on their finances.
